Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Provide patient care and support in accordance with individualized care plans. Administer medications as prescribed while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Prepare meals and assist with cooking to ensure proper nutrition for clients. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive engagement. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' overall well-being. Assist with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary. Document client progress and any significant changes in behavior or health conditions. Skills First aid and CPR certification is preferred. Experience working in group homes or assisted living facilities is highly desirable. Strong patient observation skills to recognize changes in client conditions promptly. Familiarity with home & community care practices is beneficial. Experience in caregiving, including working with individuals who have Alzheimer's, dementia, or autism. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client mobility assistance. Knowledge of medication administration protocols and care plans is essential. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. A background in nursing or social work can be advantageous for this role. Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
