Job Overview We are seeking reliable, compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide Homemaker Personal Care (HPC) services in and around Wood and Lucas County, as well as working in our ADS setting when needed. In this role, you will work directly with individuals in home and community settings, assisting with daily living activities, personal care, community integration, and skill building based on each person's Individual Service Plan (ISP).

Key Responsibilities Personal Care & Daily Living:

Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.

Community Integration:

Support individuals in exploring hobbies, attending social outings, shopping, running errands, and engaging with their local community.

Skill Building & Independence:

Encourage self-advocacy, independence, and social skills development as outlined in the individual's Service Plan (ISP).

Medication & Health Support:

Assist with medication administration (if certified) and monitor health and safety.

Transportation:

Safely transport individuals to medical appointments, community outings, and activities using an agency or personal vehicle.

Documentation:

Accurately document daily activities, progress notes, and service hours through electronic documentation (Brittco).

Qualifications & Requirements Age:

Must be at least 18 years old.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Driver's License:

Valid Ohio Driver's License with a clean driving record (fewer than 4 points).

Insurance & Vehicle:

Valid auto insurance and reliable personal transportation.

Certifications:

CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Ohio DODD Initial 8-Hour Training (or willingness to complete prior to start—paid training provided). Category 1, 2, and 3 Medication Administration Certification is a plus (or agency-provided training).

Background Check:

Must pass a BCII background check (and FBI if applicable) and required registry checks (Abuse Registry, Nurse Aide Registry, etc.).

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with physical transfers if needed. Experience working with behavioral individuals preferred. Experience working with children a plus.
