Driver's License, Vehicle, Auto Insurance Homewatch CareGivers is looking for dependable, compassionate, and motivated people to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). Our DSPs support individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and throughout the community, helping them stay active, connected, and as independent as possible. Since 2006, our DSPs have been an important part of the Homewatch CareGivers team. What You'll Do As a DSP, you'll provide individualized support based on each client's needs, interests, and goals.
Your day may include:
Providing support with activities of daily living and personal care as needed. Helping maintain a safe, comfortable home environment. Supporting clients with errands, appointments, activities, and community outings. Driving clients to appropriate community activities and appointments. Encouraging independence, social interaction, and participation in the community. Helping clients explore and enjoy opportunities throughout the Cleveland area. Building positive, respectful, and meaningful relationships with the individuals you support. Following individualized care and support plans. Communicating with clients, families, and the Homewatch CareGivers team. Completing required documentation and shift responsibilities through our mobile technology platforms. What We're Looking For We're looking for people who are: Compassionate, patient, and respectful. Reliable, dependable, and responsible. Personable and comfortable building relationships. Creative and willing to try new activities and approaches. Comfortable working independently. Committed to providing quality, person-centered support. Requirements High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with fewer than 6 points. Reliable transportation and current auto insurance. Ability and willingness to drive clients as part of their support. Willingness to obtain CPR/First-Aid certification upon hire and maintain it throughout employment. Willingness to complete 8 hours of annual DODD training and other required training. At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Medication Certification I and/or II is a plus.
