Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professional on Wednesdays and possible weekends. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals in need, ensuring their safety, well-being, and overall quality of life. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals in accordance with their personalized care plans
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Prepare and serve meals based on individual dietary needs and preferences
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for any adverse reactions
  • Monitor vital signs and report any significant changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment that respects the rights and dignity of each individual
  • Assist with transportation to medical appointments, social outings, or other necessary errands
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care for each individual
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals in need
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any observations or incidents
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in caregiving or related roles is preferred
  • Knowledge of resident rights and regulations governing care facilities is a plus
  • Familiarity with medication administration procedures is desired
  • Ability to take accurate vital signs is beneficial
  • Experience in hospice care or home care settings is advantageous
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with individuals of diverse backgrounds
  • Compassionate nature and genuine desire to help others
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Note:
All positions must be paid including internship positions.
