Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Whether supporting residents in group homes, assisted living facilities, or home health settings, you'll be at the forefront of empowering individuals to live fulfilling lives. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while working in a rewarding environment committed to respect and dignity. Our agency provides all training on site. CPR, First Aid, AED & All Medication Administration Classes. All training is paid. Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility support. Monitor residents' health by observing vital signs, administering medications, and following care plans tailored to each individual's needs. Prepare or Support residents during meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are met with attention to safety and nutrition. Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safe movement and transfers. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided while respecting residents' rights and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Engage in patient observation to identify changes in behavior or health status, promptly reporting concerns to healthcare professionals. Assist with transportation for appointments or community outings, ensuring safe and respectful client transportation assistance. Maintaining cleanliness through routine cleaning duties in accordance with health standards. Collaborate effectively with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote independence and quality of life. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities support is desirable. Strong communication skills for client interaction and teamwork; compassionate attitude toward all residents is essential. Able to follow direction from supervisor and follow individual OhioISP plans Ability to perform mild to moderate lifting, safely and assist with mobility tasks involving assisted living or geriatrics populations. Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnight hours as needed.
