Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, aging, or health challenges. In this vital role, you will empower residents to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards Administer medications and follow care plans under supervision to ensure safe and effective patient care Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary restrictions and assist residents during meal times to promote independence and social interaction Support residents in engaging with community activities and social programs to enhance their quality of life Maintain a clean, safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning common areas and resident rooms Document care activities meticulously, update progress notes regularly, and collaborate with healthcare teams to develop or modify individualized care plans Skills Proven experience working in assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, or home health environments with a focus on senior or disability care Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques including vital signs measurement and patient observation for safety concerns such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications like HIPAA compliance are highly valued Strong ability to assist with ADLs and provide compassionate patient care tailored to individual needs Experience with specialized care such as hospice, memory care, autism spectrum disorders, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for resident transfers or mobility assistance Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals Join us in creating a nurturing environment where every individual receives respectful, personalized support.
