Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals promptly. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen area. Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans established by healthcare teams. Engage residents in meaningful activities, promote social interaction, and facilitate community outings or transportation as needed. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, resident progress, and incident reports in compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, assisting with housekeeping tasks like cleaning, and managing emergency procedures including first aid and CPR when necessary. Requirements New to the field or Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and support patients with dementia or Alzheimer's care. Knowledge of resident's rights, HIPAA regulations, and confidentiality standards essential for safeguarding client information. Hands-on experience with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices required for heavy lifting or manual handling tasks. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within multidisciplinary care teams. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in dementia care or neurodevelopmental disorders are advantageous. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks related to caregiving duties. Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
