Duties Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support medication administration under supervision or as authorized by healthcare plans; ensure proper handling and storage of medications. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a caring and respectful environment that promotes mental well-being. Assist with mobility and transfers using proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods to ensure safety during movement. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary; maintain cleanliness in dining areas. Support residents' participation in community activities and outings by providing personal transportation assistance and ensuring safety during travel. Follow care plans meticulously, documenting observations related to patient condition, behavioral changes, or concerns such as dementia or Alzheimer's care needs. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols including manual handling procedures. Observe residents closely for signs of distress or health deterioration; communicate findings promptly to nursing staff or supervisors for appropriate action. Experience Prior experience working with individuals in group home settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to monitor patients' conditions accurately through vital signs measurement and observation skills. Experience assisting with ADLs, medication administration, patient transfer methods, and using equipment like Hoyer lifts is advantageous. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, and supporting residents with neurodevelopmental or developmental disabilities enhances your effectiveness in this role. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and privacy of patient information at all times. Previous work supporting seniors or individuals with disabilities demonstrates your commitment to compassionate caregiving.
