Job Description

Description:
Horizon Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been operating in Umatilla County since 1977. We support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes (24/7 support) and in the community. We're looking for reliable caregivers that prioritize quality client care and promote client independence where possible. No prior experience or certifications are required. Experience may be considered when discussing starting pay.
Pay Scale:
$16 - $22 per hour. Starting pay is $16 - $18.50 depending on experience.
Job Duties:
Accurately administer client medications Document client medications and activities on Therap using a computer Promote client independence and help them achieve personal goals Maintain a clean and safe home for clients Help with client financials and state benefits Help client bathe/shower, brush teeth, and use the bathroom (both male and female clients) Do housework like cooking, cleaning, and laundry Accompany clients to medical appointments and be an advocate for their healthcare Take clients on community outings to the museum, library, or shopping Operate a company wheelchair van safely (not applicable to graveyard shift) Remain calm in a chaotic environment Properly respond to client behaviors to protect the safety of clients and others Work with a diverse team to ensure quality client care and safety
Schedule:
Day shift, swing shift, graveyard shift (varies based on location) Consistent schedule every week Opportunities for overtime Weekend shift differential: +$1 per hour on

Requirements:
