Berwick, PA (Seasonal sessions may occur in Bloomsburg, PA)Schedule:

Part-Time, Year-Round Position Overview:
A woman with intellectual and developmental disabilities is seeking a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist with her swim therapy sessions. Swim Therapy sessions have a 2:1 staffing ratio (two DSPs per shift). Sessions are scheduled Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM in an indoor pool setting in Berwick, PA with occasional seasonsal sessions in Bloomsburg, PA, weather permitting. The individual in need of support is also seeking backup Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide Companion and In-Home Community Services at her home located in Bloomsburg, PA.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with dressing, transferring, and toileting before, during, and after swimming sessions.
- Support safe entry and exit from the pool using adaptive equipment.
- Follow a water-based exercise program designed by a physical therapist.
- Provide ongoing encouragement and reassurance during swimming activities.
- Assist with physical movements including lifting, stooping, bending, and reaching.
- Maintain safety and promote a positive, respectful environment.
- Ensure accurate documentation of services and progress made.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver's license and working cellphone.
- Pass required background checks.
- Willing to get into the pool and provide hands-on support.
- Proficient swimmer with good physical stamina.
- Experience with intellectual disabilities is a plus (not required).
