Job Description
- Provide respectful, person-centered support based on each individual's needs, preferences, choices, and goals
- Assist individuals with developing and maintaining daily living skills
- Support household activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and organization
- Encourage independence by allowing individuals to complete tasks they can safely perform
- Support individuals with community participation, social activities, appointments, errands, and recreational outings
- Provide transportation when required by the individual's service plan or scheduled activities
- Use positive communication, encouragement, redirection, and de-escalation techniques when needed
- Promote each individual's dignity, privacy, rights, safety, and well-being
- Follow the Individual Support Plan and implement assigned goals and outcomes
- Observe and report changes in an individual's behavior, health, safety, or support needs
- Complete accurate and timely service notes, progress notes, and other required documentation
- Follow incident-reporting, confidentiality, HIPAA, and mandated-reporting requirements
- Maintain professional boundaries and communicate appropriately with individuals, families, coworkers, support coordinators, and management
- Follow all Kings Helping Hands policies, procedures, training requirements, and applicable ODP regulations
- Perform other job-related duties consistent with the individual's approved services and support needs Qualifications and Skills

- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow written service plans and instructions
- Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during challenging situations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a support team
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation when required for the position
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the assigned position
- Must successfully complete all required background checks and clearances
- Must complete required ODP and Kings Helping Hands orientation and training
- CPR and First Aid certification must be completed as required
- Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required Employment Information Kings Helping Hands offers full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities based on individual needs and available service hours.
Pay:
