Position Summary The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in home and community-based settings. The DSP assists participants with daily living activities, promotes independence, ensures health and safety, and supports engagement within the community in accordance with the Individual Support Plan (ISP). Key Responsibilities Provide direct care and supervision to participants in home and community environments Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and light housekeeping Support community integration by accompanying participants to appointments, social activities, and outings Encourage skill development, independence, and goal achievement as outlined in the ISP Provide companionship and emotional support Assist with non-medical transportation as needed Observe, document, and report any changes in participant condition or behavior Complete accurate and timely documentation, including daily notes and incident reports Maintain a safe and clean environment for participants Follow all agency policies, procedures, and ODP regulations Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with IDD or in a related field High school diploma or equivalent (required) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, compassionate, and patient demeanor Requirements Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass criminal background checks and all required clearances Must be eligible to work in the United States Ability to lift, assist, and support participants as needed Required Documentation Current Physical Examination (within 1 year) 2-Step TB Test or Quantiferon blood test Proof of residency Completion of all required Pennsylvania clearances Training Requirements Completion of mandatory in-person training prior to working independently Participation in ongoing required trainings, including ODP-related trainings and annual updates Compensation & Benefits Starting pay at $17.00 per hour Flexible scheduling options (full-time, part-time, per diem) Opportunities for advancement and professional growth Supportive work environment Work Location Services are provided in home and community settings throughout Pennsylvania , based on staff availability and participant needs.
