Full Job Description Special Needs Autism Tutor/Community Support Staff Job Overview:

Seeking a creative tutor/community support person with previous employment history working as a Therapeutic Staff Support (T.S.S.) or Behavioral Support Staff for a female participant with Autism. Looking for a person who will be dedicated, dependable, positive, and take charge to work with her, her family, and educational team.

Responsibilities:

This position requires a creative person who can meet the needs of a diverse learner, and has experience supporting such a learner in the community. You must have a car, valid license, insurance, and registration to transport the participant in the community. If hired, you will support the participant in classes, volunteer opportunities, YMCA, mall, restaurants, museums, etc. You must be someone who has innovative ideas to incorporate the arts and technology into everyday life and have an overall love for learning!

Qualifications:

Teaching experience in any capacity T.S.S/Behavioral Support Staff experience Experience working with individuals who have Autism Experience working with diverse learners in the community A progressive philosophy and approach to educating and interacting with a person with Autism An understanding that people with Autism know much much more than they show Creative implementation of teaching and behavioral techniques Fun-loving, idea-filled, talented, technology-savvy Mileage is reimbursed. Must have a car. Looking for someone to work 8+ hours a week, flexible hours.
