Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to an adult with intellectual disabilities in the home and in the community. In this vital role, you will foster a safe, respectful, and empowering environment by assisting with daily activities, monitoring health status, and promoting independence. Your energy and positive attitude will help enhance the quality of life while building a meaningful relationship based on trust and respect. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a real difference through dedicated caregiving and support. Responsibilities Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) such as showering, dressing, toileting and grooming Support the individual in social activities and community outings Drive the individual to appointments, events and activities Engage in heavy lifting as needed Assist with communication including visual-gestural, sign language and use of assistive technology Provide supportive supervision to ensure safety and wellness
Requirements:
Prior experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities/Autism Willingness to learn how to support an individual with a hearing impairment Ability to lift heavy objects safely using proper techniques•physical stamina is essential for supporting the individual's mobility needs Strong communication skills Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful, person-centered care that promotes dignity and independence Covid-19 vaccination required Valid Driver's License, reliable vehicle and a willingness to transport the individual into the community•
MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT PROVIDED
Must be available Saturdays and Sundays Non-smoking household
A BACKGROUND CHECK WILL BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT
