Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant/Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of daily living care. This vital role involves delivering personalized care that promotes independence, dignity, and quality of life. As a caregiver, you will work closely with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive support tailored to each person's unique needs. Your energy, empathy, and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene Support residents with mobility and transfers using proper patient transfer methods and equipment such as Hoyer lifts Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status or behavior, especially in dementia, Alzheimer's, or memory care settings Prepare nutritious meals aligned with care plans and dietary restrictions while ensuring proper food safety standards Administer medications accurately following prescribed instructions and document medication administration per HIPAA regulations Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a caring environment that promotes mental well-being Support clients during medical appointments or community outings using personal transportation assistance Follow established care plans and communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient progress or concerns Ensure compliance with all safety standards including first aid, CPR certification, manual handling procedures, and patient monitoring protocols Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred Demonstrated experience in patient observation, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, or hospice care enhances your suitability for this role Familiarity with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and patient personal care assistance is essential Knowledge of medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and care plan implementation is required Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration are necessary Certification in first aid and CPR is mandatory; additional certifications related to healthcare or caregiving are a plus Join us to make a positive impact through compassionate caregiving!
