Independent Options is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and professional Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide individualized, in-home support to an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the Lebanon, PA area. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position . Services will be provided primarily within the individual's home and will focus on personal care, activities of daily living, skill development, safety, and promoting as much independence as possible. The individual uses a wheelchair and requires hands-on assistance with personal care and daily living needs. Applicants should be comfortable providing respectful and dignified assistance with ADLs, including incontinence care. Responsibilities Provide individualized support in the individual's home. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, hygiene, toileting, and other personal care needs. Provide appropriate and respectful incontinence care. Assist with safe mobility, positioning, and other needs related to wheelchair use. Support the individual in developing and maintaining daily living and independence skills. Encourage choice, independence, dignity, and participation in daily routines. Provide supervision and support based on the individual's needs and service plan. Assist with household and daily routines as appropriate. Observe and report changes in the individual's needs, behaviors, or overall well-being. Maintain accurate, professional, and timely service documentation. Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and others involved in the individual's services. Follow the individual's Individual Support Plan (ISP), company policies, and applicable service requirements. Schedule 40 hours per week Monday through Friday Flexible daytime and evening hours Occasional Saturdays as needed Applicants should have flexibility to accommodate the individual's authorized service schedule. Preferred Qualifications Experience providing Direct Support Professional services or supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred. Experience providing hands-on personal care and ADL assistance is preferred. Comfortable assisting an individual who uses a wheelchair. Comfortable providing incontinence and other personal care in a respectful and professional manner. Dependable and able to maintain a consistent work schedule. Patient, compassionate, and respectful. Strong communication and documentation skills. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. Ability to follow individualized support plans, policies, and training requirements.
