McKeesport, PA Job Details Full-time $18.19 - $27.58 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications Working with individuals with disabilities High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Mon Yough is hiring a full-time Direct Support Professional - Vocational to support clients in McKeesport, PA. The Direct Support Professional is primarily responsible for skills training, development and implementation of both facility and community-based program activities. Activities are intended to expand skills and integrate consumers into their community, according to their needs and interests, including competitive integrated employment. The shift for this position is Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting clients with ADLs. The incumbent will also be responsible for helping to foster independence and life skill retention.
Responsibilities:
Transportation:
Provide transportation for consumers using agency vehicles.
Mobility and Flexibility:
Ensure safety and wellbeing through physical activities like running, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting.
Activity Planning:
Plan and conduct individual, small group, or employment activities to maximize potential and foster independence, including paid work activities requiring staff assistance.
Relationship Building:
Establish and maintain effective relationships with consumers, families, and customers, exceeding their service expectations.
Individualized Care:
Provide care based on the Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and individual needs.
Compliance:
Carry out the ISP and complete paperwork accurately, adhering to agency, county, and state regulations.
Training:
Participate in annual trainings as required by regulations and agency policy.
Judgment and Decision-Making:
Demonstrate proper judgment and decision-making skills in interactions with consumers, families, and team members. High School diploma or GED required. One (1) year experience working with individuals with disabilities. Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid PA driver's license and meet the guidelines to be accepted on the agency's vehicle insurance policy.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
