A Recreation or Activities Worker leads tours and vacation trips in outdoor or wilderness areas. Leads hiking, rafting, canoeing, climbing or diving activities for a group. Provides specialized knowledge about the history, terrain, ecology or wildlife for the tour. Manages transportation, equipment and provisions and assists with cooking.

At Community LIFE, our Activities Assistant helps the Activities Coordinator with the planning, organization, coordination and implementation of therapeutic activities for older adults at our day center. The work duties vary on a day-to-day basis- you will not be bored in this job! A Driver's license is required for this position, as you will occasionally travel to homes within the community to do activities with our participants.

Required Education:
High School diploma or GED with the willingness to continue with credit and non-credit classes to advance and enhance skills.
Required Experience:
One year experience working with the frail or elderly. One year experience providing therapeutic activities in a social setting.
Required Skills:
Ability to work cooperatively with Activities Coordinator and Day Center staff. Willingness to use skills, talents, and creativity to enhance and advance activity programming format.
