Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support to individuals in various care settings. Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning, ensuring dietary needs are met. Use proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safety during mobility assistance. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols. Provide transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or community outings, promoting independence and engagement. Support individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or other neurodevelopmental disabilities through specialized care techniques like memory care and behavioral monitoring. Follow resident rights policies and ensure respectful communication with clients at all times. Collaborate with healthcare teams to update care plans and document patient progress accurately. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs effectively. Experience with medication administration, first aid, CPR certification, and Hoyer lift operation is desirable. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality is essential. Strong skills in personal transportation assistance, assisting with ADLs, manual handling, and heavy lifting as needed. Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with individuals experiencing dementia, Alzheimer's, autism or developmental disabilities. Excellent client communication skills coupled with a positive attitude toward caregiving responsibilities. Ability to follow detailed care plans and adhere to safety standards in all tasks performed. Valid certifications in first aid and CPR are preferred; ongoing training in geriatrics or hospice care is a plus.
