Job Description

Overview We are looking for an experienced Direct Support Professional (SSP) to support a young man in his home and in the community. (1:1, private home) We are also interested in DSP/SSPs to provide respite/relief care for the family and coverage for needed hours as discussed and agreed. Weekend availability is a must. Schedule and hourly rate are negotiable and depend on the right person, experience, reliability, and commitment. Please review the job details and requirements. Responsibilities Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs Prepare meals and assist with meal planning to meet dietary guidelines and individual preferences Social activities and community outings to foster socialization and community integration Maintain accurate documentation through service notes This is a PA-ODP participant-directed waiver position, with financial management, background checks, and payroll through the state contracted agency, Public Partnerships Inc. (PPL) Qualifications Prior work experience in similar jobs, supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities Ability to assist with ADLs and provide personal care with compassion and professionalism Certification in CPR and First Aid is helpful Experience working with individuals with disabilities in the community Capable of physical activity required for resident support and manual handling tasks Excellent communication skills for effective team collaboration Drivers License and use of your own personal car, mileage reimbursed for outings with the participant during work shifts For respite, we are interested in options for support that might be based out of the home.
Pay:
$18.00 - $26.00 per hour
