Independent Options is seeking a dependable, patient, and community-oriented Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide weekend support to an independent adult residing in Palmyra, Pennsylvania. The DSP will assist the individual with increasing community involvement, developing independent-living skills, and participating in meaningful recreational and social activities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others build confidence, make choices, and become more connected within their community. Primary Responsibilities Support the individual with planning and participating in community activities. Assist with developing social, communication, and independent-living skills. Encourage personal choice, independence, and self-advocacy. Provide transportation to approved community activities and appointments as needed. Maintain professional boundaries and protect the individual's privacy and dignity. Complete accurate and timely service documentation. Follow the individual's support plan and all agency policies and procedures. Maintain regular communication with supervisors and the support team. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous DSP, caregiving, behavioral-health, or human-services experience is preferred but not required. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record required. Must successfully complete all required background checks and training. Ability to work independently, communicate professionally, and maintain reliable weekend attendance. A respectful, patient, and person-centered approach is essential.
