About the Position We are seeking a warm, energetic, and patient Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join a supportive team providing 2:1 in-home and community support for a wonderful adult woman in her early 40s. She is admired for her artistic spirit, great sense of style, wonderful sense of humor, and warm smile. This weekend position focuses on enhancing her quality of life by facilitating meaningful community outings, encouraging creative hobbies, assisting with daily routines, and providing a positive, structured environment. Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Outings:

Accompany and transport her to preferred community activities, such as walking on local nature trails, visiting parks, swimming, bowling, shopping, and dining out at restaurants.

In-Home Activities:

Engage her in enjoyable indoor hobbies, including arts and crafts projects (making necklaces, painting, coloring), doing puzzles, playing dominoes, and listening to music.

•

Personal Care & Daily Living Support:

Provide attentive assistance with daily self-help skills (bathing, personal hygiene, dressing, toileting schedule/support) and assist at mealtimes by cutting food into bite-sized pieces.

•

Communication & Positive Behavioral Support:

Maintain a predictable daily schedule and clearly communicate what to expect throughout the day. Use short, concrete instructions, positive reinforcement, and gentle redirection to support her emotional well-being and ease anxiety.

Safety & Transportation:

Provide attentive 2:1 supervision in the home and community to ensure her health, safety, and comfort at all times. Qualifications & Requirements

•

Experience:

Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) or working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred.

•

Transportation:

Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and clean driving record required.

•

Personal Attributes:

Patient, caring, and encouraging mindset with strong active listening skills.

•

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

•

Background Check:

Ability to pass required background clearances.
