We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Driver/Direct Support Professional I (DSP I) to join our team. In this dual role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our clients' safety, independence, and overall well-being both in the community and within our program facilities.

Schedule:
Full-time hours; includes a requirement to work two (2) weekend shifts per month. The Driver/Direct Support Professional I (DSP I) is directly responsible for ensuring that all client transportation needs are met safely and in a timely manner. This includes driving clients to medical appointments, recreational outings, grocery shopping, errand runs, vocational placements, and Structured Day Treatment Programs. Additionally, you will support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and behavioral plan implementation to foster growth and independence. Key Responsibilities Transportation & Community Safety Provide safe, timely transportation for clients to medical appointments, food shopping, personal/company leisure activities, and approved home visits. Ensure client safety in company vehicles by utilizing all appropriate safety restraints. Conduct driver training and complete the Driver Trainer Road Test Checklist for new staff during orientation. Report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly to the Transportation Coordinator to ensure safe operations. Direct Care & Daily Living Support Assist clients with transfers and activities of daily living (ADLs) as required by their specific profiles (including showering/bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, feeding assistance, and laundry). Assist with client apartment/room maintenance and general facility upkeep. Accurately administer medications in accordance with company policies following the successful completion of our medication training program and yearly practicums. Actively support, educate, and assist in training new hires on client programs and daily routines. Safety, Documentation, & Communication Complete all daily documentation fully, accurately, and in accordance with established procedures. Implement individual Behavioral Plans and follow all safety policies, including Bloodborne Pathogen Guidelines, Universal Precautions, Emergency Procedures, and Crisis Management techniques. Read and initial staff logs each shift; promptly report all significant incidents, crisis situations, or client/staff developments through the proper chain of command. Communicate professionally and appropriately with client families as occasions warrant. Attend and participate regularly in staff meetings and all required training sessions.
Job Qualifications Age:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
License:
Must possess a valid Driver's License.
Experience:
Experience transporting individuals with disabilities is required.
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent attendance and punctuality.
