Job Description

Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and support to adult individuals with diverse needs within their homes and/or in the community. This role involves assisting individuals in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to person-centered care, excellent communication skills, and experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care settings. Requirements At least 18 years of age Experience supporting individuals with an Intellectual Disability and/or ASD (preferred) Driver's License, Vehicle Registration and Insurance Clean Driving Record Pass FBI/Child Abuse/State Police Clearance Patient and Supportive Personality Scheduled days are dependent on your availability and the individual's preferences.

There are multiple work sites in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Duties Matching with an individual is dependent on preferences and skillset. Individual's can be located throughout Southeast PA. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, adhering to HIPAA regulations Operate as a Mandated Reporter and adhere to reporting requirements to APS, DHS and other governing entities. Engage individuals to participate in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and independence Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning and preparation Provide supervision and observation to ensure safety and well-being Perform light housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean, safe living environment Follow individualized care plans tailored to each individual's needs, including behavioral needs, emotional needs, and medical needs. Observe for changes in health status or behavior and report findings promptly to supervisors Adhere to safety protocols including CPR and First Aid procedures
Assignment Specifics:
Avana is looking for a DSP that can support a young woman in Sellersville on Sundays overnight from 8pm-6am and Thursdays from 2pm-Friday 6am. This is an awake-overnight position because the individual periodically wakes up during the night and needs redirection to return to bed.
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
