Overview Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal care. This vital role offers an opportunity to provide dedicated assistance in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, and home health environments. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will empower clients to maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life through attentive, respectful care. Your energetic approach and commitment to excellence will help create a warm, supportive environment where clients feel valued and cared for every day. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using proper manual handling and patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts. Monitor patients' health status by observing vital signs, managing medication administration, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals promptly. Support clients with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition tailored to individual dietary needs. Maintain accurate care plans and document all care activities clearly while respecting residents' rights and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide emotional support through active communication, companionship, and engagement in recreational activities that promote mental well-being. Assist with patient transportation within facilities or community outings using safe personal transportation methods. Follow all safety protocols including first aid, CPR certification requirements, and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health care is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and assist with medication administration accurately. Experience working with individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous. Knowledge of care plans development and implementation for residents with intellectual disabilities or senior care needs. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality at all times. Proven skills in manual handling techniques such as heavy lifting and patient transfer methods including Hoyer lifts. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration in diverse caregiving environments. Pay:
From $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 2.0 - 45.0 per week
