This energetic role involves assisting clients with daily activities, monitoring health and safety, and promoting independence. Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene Provide patient observation and monitor vital signs to ensure safety and well-being Support medication administration and adherence according to care plans while adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed Help clients with mobility using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques Maintain cleanliness of the client's environment through light cleaning and sanitation tasks Support residents in assisted living or nursing home settings by helping with routine tasks, ensuring comfort, and fostering social engagement Document patient progress, update care plans, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams about changes in condition or needs Assist with transportation for appointments or community outings, ensuring safe personal transportation assistance Support individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, autism, dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive impairments through specialized memory care and dementia care techniques Respond promptly to emergencies by providing first aid or CPR when necessary and following safety protocols Experience We welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds in caregiving roles. Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly valued. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in patient monitoring, medication administration, and supporting individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges. Experience working with seniors or those requiring hospice care is a plus. Familiarity with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts, managing care plans for dementia or Alzheimer's patients, and supporting patients with intellectual disabilities will set you apart. Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration are essential. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred but not required; training can be provided for the right candidate. A compassionate attitude combined with manual handling skills and the ability to work independently will ensure success in this rewarding role.
