Job Overview Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant, where your dedication and caring nature will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal well-being. In this vital role, you'll provide personalized assistance to residents in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings. Your energy and positive attitude will help foster a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for those you serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while making a lasting impact on the community. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and observe patients closely to identify changes in health status or behavior, documenting observations accurately while respecting HIPAA privacy regulations. Prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions, ensuring safety and cleanliness in the kitchen area. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols. Maintain a clean, safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning resident areas and laundry. Assist with mobility and transfers using proper techniques to ensure safety for residents with disabilities or mobility challenges. Follow care plans meticulously, collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality patient care. Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation. Respond promptly to emergency situations by administering first aid or CPR when necessary and notifying appropriate medical personnel. Support residents' emotional needs through active listening, encouragement, and respectful communication. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or neurodevelopmental disorders. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and care plan implementation. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information. Experience in caregiving roles involving heavy lifting or manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts is advantageous. Strong understanding of safety procedures including first aid and CPR certification. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings while maintaining compassion and professionalism.
