Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals promptly. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area. Support residents with medication administration following care plans and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging residents in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, cleaning resident areas regularly, and assisting with manual handling tasks safely. Document care provided accurately in resident records, including updates on patient status, medication logs, and incident reports. Skills Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly valued. Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), and neurodevelopmental disabilities support. Proficiency in assisting with ADLs, patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer techniques, and vital signs measurement. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams while respecting residents' rights and confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines. Experience in performing first aid and CPR certifications are preferred but not required. Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform manual handling tasks with proper technique.
