Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary. Facilitate patient transfers using appropriate methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques while ensuring safety. Maintain cleanliness of the living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and adhering to infection control standards. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings, promoting social engagement and independence. Document care activities accurately in client records and communicate effectively with team members regarding patient progress or changes. Skills Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs measurement, and medication administration protocols. Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism. Proficiency in using patient transfer methods including Hoyer lifts and understanding patient personal care assistance procedures. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while managing heavy lifting when necessary. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration within diverse caregiving environments. Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred; ongoing training in HIPAA compliance and patient privacy standards is essential.
