History Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Private Caregiver to provide exceptional personalized care to individuals in their homes or community settings. This vital role involves supporting clients with daily activities, health monitoring, and emotional well-being, ensuring they live safely, comfortably, and with dignity. The ideal candidate will bring energy, empathy, and a proactive approach to caregiving, making a positive difference in clients' lives every day. Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, documenting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring correct dosage and timing in accordance with care plans. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation. Support clients during outings or appointments by providing personal transportation assistance and ensuring safety at all times. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and infection control practices. Communicate effectively with clients, family members, healthcare teams, and social workers to coordinate care and update on progress or concerns. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in patient observation, dementia care (including Alzheimer's disease), memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities. Proven ability to perform patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and emergency response procedures including CPR and first aid. Familiarity with care plans development and implementation tailored to individual needs. Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, individuals with disabilities, developmental disabilities support needs, and those requiring long-term or home & community care. Knowledge of manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods to ensure safety during mobility assistance. Strong communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with healthcare professionals while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
