Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. In this vital role, you will empower residents to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Your dedication will help foster a positive environment where residents feel valued, respected, and supported in achieving their personal goals. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through hands-on caregiving and personalized support. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident's personal assistance devices Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare teams Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care plans while maintaining accurate documentation Prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary restrictions and preferences; assist with meal service as needed Support residents during community outings or activities to promote social engagement and independence Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks, laundry assistance, and adherence to safety protocols Follow established care plans for residents with Alzheimer's, dementia, autism, or other special needs; implement memory care strategies and behavioral interventions when appropriate Document all care provided accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable Proven ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health challenges such as autism or dementia Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and emergency response procedures including CPR and first aid certification Experience with patient monitoring tools like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices for heavy lifting is preferred Familiarity with care planning processes, HIPAA compliance, and documentation standards in healthcare environments Strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with residents and team members while demonstrating patience and empathy Ability to handle physically demanding tasks safely while maintaining a compassionate approach toward resident care Join us in making a positive impact by providing dedicated support that enhances the quality of life for those we serve. Pay:
$19.50 - $21.00 per hour
