Position Description:
The Park Naturalist Intern will help coordinate, create and present environmental education programs for school groups and the general public. They will be involved with the development of park's media releases: posters and public service announcements; help with the coordination of special events; and greet and assist park visitors. The applicant should have the ability to work with all age groups from children to adults. Courses that are favorable for the internship are Biology, Speech, Environmental Education, Park and Recreation, Public Relations, Botany and Ecology. Must enjoy spending time outdoors and enthusiasm is a must!
Qualifications:
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program. All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
