A Home Health Aide helps individuals who are disabled, elderly, or chronically ill with daily tasks, such as dressing, washing, and light housekeeping. They can care for patients in their homes or other healthcare settings, and may perform basic medical care under the direction of a nurse or other medical professional. These roles typically require more comprehensive agency-approved training programs.

As a DSP, you will provide compassionate, person-centered support that promotes independence, safety, dignity, and quality of life. You will assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, community participation, behavioral support, meals, medication administration, and other needs outlined in their plans of care. Our DSPs play an important role in creating a safe, respectful, and supportive home environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, professional, compassionate, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

6:00 PM-6:00 AM PRN/As Needed Duties and Responsibilities Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility. Provide person-centered support while promoting independence and choice. Monitor individuals for changes in health, behavior, mood, or overall condition and promptly report concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Administer medications only after completing required training, certification, and authorization, and in accordance with applicable policies and plans of care. Prepare and cook meals according to individual preferences, dietary needs, and meal plans. Assist with feeding and nutritional needs when required. Safely assist with transfers and mobility using approved techniques and specialized equipment, including Hoyer lifts when necessary. Transport individuals to appointments, community activities, and other approved outings using your personal vehicle when transportation is part of the individual's support needs. Follow plans of care, behavioral support plans, and recommendations provided by qualified professionals and therapists. Support individuals with community activities, appointments, recreational activities, and other meaningful activities. Provide appropriate emotional and behavioral support while maintaining professionalism and dignity. Follow approved behavioral intervention and crisis-prevention strategies. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary living environment through routine housekeeping and other assigned duties. Complete required documentation accurately and within designated timeframes. Document services provided, observations, incidents, medication administration, and other required information. Report changes in condition, behavioral concerns, injuries, medication concerns, and other significant events according to agency procedures. Maintain confidentiality and protect the privacy of individuals supported in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies. Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and in-services. Communicate professionally and effectively with Home Managers, supervisors, coworkers, families, healthcare professionals, and other members of the individual's support team. Follow all agency policies, procedures, safety requirements, and instructions from supervisors. Requirements Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice care, or other health challenges is preferred, but we will train the right candidate. Compassionate attitude and commitment to treating all individuals with respect, dignity, and patience. Ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive when assisting individuals experiencing behavioral or emotional challenges. Ability to follow plans of care, behavioral support plans, and established procedures. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to complete required documentation accurately and on time. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential. Ability to attend required trainings and meetings. Ability to safely perform physical duties associated with the position, including assisting with transfers and using specialized equipment. Reliable personal transportation and valid vehicle insurance are required. The agency does not provide company vehicles. Staff are required to use their own insured vehicle when transporting individuals as part of their job duties. Valid driver's license. Must be at least 18 years old. Must successfully pass a required background check. Must be willing to complete all required agency training and certifications. Must maintain professional boundaries and protect confidential information. Must treat individuals supported, coworkers, supervisors, families, and all others with respect and dignity. Important:
CPR/First Aid, CPI, and Relias training hours are paid at minimum wage. Regular DSP work is paid at the advertised DSP rate of $14.71 per hour.
