These homes, both ICF and HCS certified facilities promoting independent living, are licensed and regulated by the State of Texas. We have part-time and full-time positions available. If you are enrolled in college, then we will work to accommodate your schedule. Working as an aide in one of our homes will provide valuable experience for Psychology, Nursing, Special Education, and Sociology students in particular. Position Summary:

The Direct Care Professional provides compassionate, person-centered care and daily support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down Syndrome, and related conditions. Operating within a structured, home-like residential environment, this role is dedicated to promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life for each individual served, in alignment with their personalized care plan.

Key Responsibilities:

Resident Care & Daily Support Provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, housekeeping, and general self-care routines Guide and support residents in meal planning and preparation, promoting nutritional awareness and independent living skills Facilitate and supervise individualized goal-directed activities both within the residential facility and in community settings Ensure the accurate and timely administration of medications in accordance with each resident's prescribed care plan Monitor and maintain a safe, clean, and structured living environment that promotes resident well-being at all times Documentation & Compliance Complete and maintain accurate daily progress notes, incident reports, and all required program documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards Adhere to established care plans and report any changes in resident behavior, health status, or needs to the appropriate supervisory staff Transportation & Community Integration Provide reliable transportation for residents to and from the Day Habilitation (Day Hab) Program and community activities, including weekend outings Support residents in developing community integration skills and fostering meaningful social engagement Crisis Intervention & Safety Respond promptly and effectively to behavioral crises and emergency situations, including fire or other disasters, utilizing approved intervention techniques Collaborate with program management and clinical staff to address and resolve behavioral, medical, and safety concerns in a timely and professional manner

Qualifications & Requirements:

Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred Genuine commitment to person-centered care and the promotion of resident independence and dignity Strong interpersonal, communication, and observational skills Ability to remain calm, composed, and effective in crisis or high-pressure situations Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire Must pass applicable background screening and health clearances as required by state and organizational policy

Education/Experience :

High School diploma or equivalent. CNA experience preferred but not required. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred but not required.
