Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including home, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs, medication adherence, and overall condition Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs Utilize patient transfer methods including Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility Maintain accurate care plans, document patient observations, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being Assist with medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and safety protocols Support residents during medical appointments or community outings using personal transportation assistance Follow infection control procedures by cleaning and sanitizing client areas regularly Recognize signs of dementia, Alzheimer's, autism spectrum disorder, or other neurodevelopmental conditions to tailor care approaches accordingly Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration Experience with dementia care, memory care, Alzheimer's care, or hospice care is highly desirable Ability to assist with ADLs using proper manual handling and transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications in HIPAA compliance or social work are a plus Familiarity with patient personal care assistance standards and safety protocols in long-term or community care settings Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting when necessary Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is advantageous Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a healthcare team Join us in providing compassionate care that truly makes a difference!
