Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Hospice Aide to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with experience working with geriatric populations and individuals with disabilities. As a Hospice Aide, you will provide essential personal and supportive care to patients, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being while adhering to all home healthcare regulations and maintaining strict confidentiality. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor and observe patients' physical and emotional conditions, reporting any changes or concerns promptly. Support patients with medication reminders and basic medical tasks such as vital signs monitoring and catheter care. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems while respecting patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families during end-of-life care. Assist with light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and ensuring a safe environment. Use proper patient transfer methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts to ensure safe mobility assistance. Requirements Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, home healthcare, or hospice settings. Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (BLS) or first aid certification. Familiarity with EMR systems for accurate documentation of patient care activities. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care is preferred. Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physically demanding tasks as required for patient transfer and mobility assistance. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Valid CNA License Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
