Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional working the grave shift, where your compassion and energy make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those needing specialized memory care. This vital role offers an opportunity to provide personalized assistance during overnight hours, ensuring safety, comfort, and quality of life for residents. Responsibilities Provide direct personal care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor residents' vital signs and overall health status regularly, reporting any concerns promptly. Assist with medication administration following prescribed schedules and protocols to ensure safety and compliance. Operate manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to transfer residents with mobility challenges. Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's by implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control standards. Document resident interactions, health updates, and incident reports accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Drive residents when needed for appointments or community outings, ensuring safe transportation practices. Experience Prior assisted living or nursing home experience is highly preferred, especially in senior care or memory care settings. Demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in group home environments. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, geriatrics, and behavior management techniques. Hands-on experience with vital signs monitoring, medication administration, CPR, first aid, and manual handling procedures. Familiarity with home & community care practices and long-term care environments is advantageous. Ability to work independently during overnight shifts while maintaining high standards of safety and compassion. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, team members, and emergency responders.
