Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or other health challenges. This role involves supporting residents in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient-centered care, excellent communication skills, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on people's lives. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), may include bathing, dressing, grooming Support residents with medication administration and monitor vital signs as required Implement and follow personalized care plans tailored to each individual's needs Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and maintaining proper nutrition standards Utilize proper safety techniques such as CPR, first aid. Maintain cleanliness of the living environment through light housekeeping tasks Document care activities accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to coordinate care Experience Candidates should have prior experience working in assisted living, home health, hospice care, nursing homes, or group homes. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is highly valued. Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are preferred. Familiarity with medication administration, care planning, HIPAA compliance, and patient observation enhances suitability for this role. Candidates must demonstrate patience, empathy, strong communication skills, and the ability to perform some lifting when necessary.
