Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in providing exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals Support medication administration following proper protocols and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, ensuring proper food handling and cleanliness standards are maintained Maintain detailed care plans for each resident, documenting progress, preferences, and any incidents or concerns Engage residents in social activities and community outings to promote mental stimulation and social interaction Follow safety procedures during manual handling, heavy lifting, and other physical tasks to prevent injury for both staff and residents Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's), memory care, autism support, and neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous Ability to perform cleaning duties to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for residents Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards related to patient care Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or manual handling are a plus Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach to working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, assist with transfers using Hoyer lifts, and support residents during mobility activities A valid driver's license may be required for community outings or transportation responsibilities Join us in making a positive impact by providing essential support that enhances the quality of life for those we serve.
