Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Live-in Caregiver to provide exceptional, personalized care for clients in the Goochland/Manakin Sabot area. This vital role involves offering comprehensive support to individuals with diverse needs, including those with dementia, Alzheimer's, developmental disabilities, and other health conditions. As a Live-in Caregiver, you will be an essential part of creating a safe, nurturing environment that promotes independence and enhances quality of life through attentive patient care and compassionate support. Responsibilities Provide direct personal care assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs, medication administration, and maintaining detailed care plans Assist with meal preparation tailored to dietary needs and preferences while ensuring proper food safety practices Support residents with mobility using appropriate transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer techniques Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and adhering to infection control protocols Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and engagement Support residents' rights by respecting privacy, dignity, and individual preferences at all times Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and care planning Experience with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities support is a plus Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts Certification in CPR and First Aid is required or willing to obtain upon hire Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration Flexibility to work as part of a live-in caregiving team in a residential setting Join us in making a meaningful difference by providing compassionate care that empowers individuals to live comfortably at home.
