Direct Support Professional

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily activities and promoting their independence. Duties As a Direct Support Caregiver, you will be responsible for: Assisting clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Supporting daily living activities such as meal preparation, cooking, and household chores. Monitoring and documenting clients' health and behavior, including vital signs when necessary. Providing companionship and engaging clients in social activities to promote emotional well-being. Assisting clients with mobility and transferring, which may involve heavy lifting. Implementing individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences. Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care. Trainings We provide all required trainings at no cost. Skills To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following skills: Familiarity with group home environments and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is beneficial. Strong patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and patience in all interactions. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting clients with mobility needs. Cooking skills to prepare nutritious meals tailored to client preferences.
