Job Description:

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Position Summary The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides direct care, supervision and support to residents in a women's residential substance use and co-occurring mental health treatment facility. The DSP promotes a safe, structured and recovery-oriented environment while assisting residents with daily living activities, transportation, recovery support services and implementation of individualized treatment goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Resident Care and Support Provides direct supervision and support to residents in accordance with facility policies and treatment plans. Maintains a safe, therapeutic and recovery-focused environment. Encourages resident participation in treatment programming, recovery activities and community meetings. Provides emotional support and appropriate guidance while maintaining professional boundaries. Assists residents in developing independent living and coping skills. Facility Operations Conducts resident rounds and wellness checks as required. Monitors resident behavior and reports significant observations to clinical staff and supervisors. Maintains accurate and timely documentation of resident activities, incidents and services provided. Performs intake and orientation procedures as assigned. Assists with room inspections, facility cleanliness and safety checks. Enforces facility rules, schedules and behavioral expectations consistently and respectfully. Crisis Intervention and Safety Recognizes signs of crisis, relapse, withdrawal, medical emergencies, or behavioral concerns and responds appropriately. Utilizes approved de-escalation techniques when addressing resident concerns or conflicts. Immediately reports incidents, accidents, injuries, abuse, neglect, or safety concerns according to facility policies and regulatory requirements. Participates in emergency preparedness activities and responds appropriately during emergencies. Team Collaboration Communicates effectively with counselors, nurses, case managers, supervisors, and other team members regarding resident progress and concerns. Participates in staff meetings, training programs and quality improvement activities. Supports discharge planning activities and continuity of care efforts as assigned. Compliance Adheres to all federal, state, local, licensing, accreditation, and organizational requirements. Maintains confidentiality in accordance with

Part 2 and facility policies. Completes all required trainings and certifications within designated timeframes. Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience Experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, mental health, residential care, or human services preferred. Licenses and Certifications Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required. CPR and First Aid certification required or obtained within established timeframe. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Understanding of substance use disorders, recovery principles and mental health disorders. Ability to establish professional relationships and maintain boundaries. Strong communication and documentation skills. Ability to manage crisis situations calmly and effectively. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Basic computer proficiency and the ability to follow policies and procedures. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the facility. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. Ability to respond to emergencies and assist residents as needed.

Up to $20.00 per hour
