Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, bathing, and dressing Support residents with medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans Provide patient observation to ensure safety and well-being, especially for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or neurodevelopmental disorders Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption while adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences Help residents with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods; manual handling as needed Maintain cleanliness of resident areas through regular cleaning tasks and sanitation practices Document care activities accurately, including patient monitoring, medication administration, and incident reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations Skills Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable Knowledge of dementia care, memory care, Alzheimer's care, and hospice care best practices Ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and recognize signs of distress or health changes Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with team members Familiarity with care plans, medication administration procedures, and HIPAA privacy standards Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism is a plus Competence in assisting with ADLs, personal transportation assistance, meal preparation, and light housekeeping tasks Certification in CPR and first aid; knowledge of patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts preferred Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks as required Compassionate caregiving attitude combined with patience and flexibility to support diverse resident needs This role is ideal for dedicated individuals eager to provide meaningful support while advancing their caregiving expertise.
