Sunrise Services, Inc. is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in Mount Vernon! Program:
The Supported Living Program (SL) provides community living services for adults with a wide range of disabilities and mental health challenges. The SL program promotes self-determination, independence, and competence for clients. Direct Support Professionals work with adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting, assisting clients with activities ranging from personal grooming and meal preparation to shopping, housekeeping and recreational outings.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Support participants to: Shop, bank, eat, work, worship and make friends within the community. Provide transportation for the client. Meet with others and participate in activities with other members of the community. Foster positive self-esteem and a sense of self-worth. Foster opportunities to choose valued social roles. Support opportunities to influence perceptions of the person's value by self and others. Assist clients with personal care or home management tasks Perform home management tasks such as laundry, shopping, and light housekeeping Assist with making and preparing meals Peri-care as needed Maintain positive and courteous relationships with clients Accompany clients to events or on community outings Medication administration as mandated and trained Assist with personal grooming as needed Use a tablet and a program (Therap) to track medications and behaviors Assist with other tasks as needed
Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or
GED Other Considerations:
Must be able to pass a DSHS background check Fingerprinting required Must attend mandatory training classes Must have a valid driver's license, a clean 1 year driving abstract, and proof of insurance ($50,000) Must work one mandatory weekend shift Obtain NAR and complete Nurse Delegation training within 30 days of completing mandatory training. Ability to be delegated by a Registered Nurse is required before working with clients who need nurse delegated medications. Use a smartphone to clock in and out with Use a tablet to log medication and client behaviors
Compensation:
$22 - $24.04/hour $2 differential pay for qualifying sites Wages are determined by applicable industry experience, education, and certifications/licensure.
