Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, dressing, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting any changes promptly to the healthcare team. Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Support residents during meals by preparing nutritious meals, assisting with eating, and ensuring dietary guidelines are followed. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks, laundry, and sanitation of common areas in accordance with health standards. Document care activities accurately in resident records, including patient monitoring notes, medication administration logs, and incident reports. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings while ensuring safety during transfers using appropriate patient transfer methods. Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to observe patients carefully through patient observation skills and monitor vital signs effectively. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; Nurse Assistant Registered required: additional certifications like Hoyer lift training or medication administration are a plus. Strong communication skills for engaging with residents respectfully and collaborating with healthcare teams. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with manual handling tasks required for patient transfers. Familiarity with resident's rights, HIPAA compliance, and long-term care standards ensures ethical and legal adherence.
