Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, person-centered care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. While supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, your efforts will foster a nurturing environment where clients feel valued and empowered. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop rewarding relationships while honing your caregiving skills in a dynamic and supportive setting. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA confidentiality standards Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary plans and assist with meal consumption to ensure proper nutrition Administer medications following care plans and document all medication administration accurately Support clients during community outings or activities to promote social engagement and independence Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations Observe and document behavioral changes or health concerns, especially for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or other developmental disabilities Skills Proven experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health care environments Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and patient monitoring Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training preferred but not required; willingness to obtain necessary certifications upon hire Strong observational skills for patient safety and behavioral assessment Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident's lifts Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs such as autism or memory care residents Compassionate communicator capable of building trusting relationships with clients and team members Join us in creating a positive impact through dedicated caregiving!
