Laboratory Technician As a Laboratory Technician you will be responsible for performing laboratory testing to provide reliable and analytical services to Operations and customers in a timely manner. Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times Completes material analysis to determine characteristics and waste profiles Makes determination of pH, screens for oxidizers, peroxides, cyanides, and sulfides, and identifies fuel and water compatibilities Determines heat of combustion (BTU value), total halogens and completes water analysis (by Karl Fischer), percent solids and paint-filter liquids Utilizes Company Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Performs compositing, packaging, organizing, and proper disposal of retain and other waste samples Stocks and organizes laboratory areas and storeroom with chemicals and laboratory supplies Performs instrument checks including refrigerators, balances, hoods, thermometers, and pipettes Utilizes and upholds good laboratory practices (e.g. QA/QC, documentation, maintenance/minor repairs, housekeeping, professionalism) Maintains ability to assist other laboratory shifts as needed Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization 2+ years of laboratory experience (required) -OR- In lieu of experience, an associates degree in a science related field (required) Environmental laboratory experience (preferred)
