Monday-Friday; 2:00 PM-10:30 PM | 2nd Shift Overview Seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to support laboratory testing activities focused on after-wash grading and shrinkage evaluation. This role assists senior laboratory staff with preparing samples, conducting standardized tests, documenting results, and maintaining laboratory equipment and work areas. Required Skills Experience working with laboratory testing procedures, equipment, or instrumentation. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document test results. Ability to follow defined test plans, procedures, and data sheets. Basic computer skills for entering, retrieving, and reviewing laboratory data. Ability to read measuring instruments and interpret test results. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to follow established safety, security, and laboratory procedures. Job Description Process and prepare laboratory samples for testing. Perform after-wash grading and shrinkage testing according to established procedures. Conduct routine tests using designated laboratory equipment and tools. Examine samples, read measuring instruments, and evaluate test performance. Record observed and calculated data accurately on appropriate data sheets. Review test results and communicate findings to laboratory technicians, engineers, and supervisors. Prepare charts, graphs, and reports to summarize test results. Build or adapt basic test setups and equipment as directed. Perform routine care and maintenance of laboratory equipment and work areas. Use computer systems and laboratory software to enter and retrieve testing information. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and operating instructions as applicable. Follow established test plans, laboratory procedures, security practices, and quality standards. Support continuous-improvement initiatives within laboratory operations. Perform additional laboratory duties as assigned. Preferred Skills Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS). Experience operating laboratory testing equipment. Experience with sample testing, grading, measurement, or quality-control processes. Ability to prepare and interpret charts, graphs, and technical test reports. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field.
