Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform a wide range of laboratory procedures and clinical tasks to support diagnostic testing, research initiatives, and patient care. Your expertise will ensure accurate specimen collection, processing, and analysis, contributing to high-quality healthcare delivery and clinical research outcomes. Responsibilities Collect, process, and handle biological specimens such as blood, urine, and tissue samples using aseptic techniques and proper laboratory procedures. Perform laboratory tests including ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), PCR (polymerase chain reaction), flow cytometry, immunoassays, RNA extraction, DNA isolation, and blood banking procedures. Manage laboratory data accurately using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and ensure meticulous documentation of all test results and procedures. Conduct routine maintenance of laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, pipettes, microscopes, and analyzers to ensure optimal performance. Assist in clinical trials by preparing specimens, recording vital signs, and supporting research laboratory activities with precise attention to detail. Follow strict safety protocols including proper specimen handling, blood sampling techniques like venipuncture and phlebotomy, and maintaining an aseptic environment. Support laboratory management tasks such as inventory control, quality assurance processes, and compliance with regulatory standards. Requirements Proven experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting with a strong understanding of laboratory techniques and procedures. Proficiency in data management systems and data analysis skills for interpreting test results accurately. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and blood banking practices. Hands-on experience with assays such as ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry, immunoassays, and RNA/DNA extraction methods. Ability to perform specimen collection including venipuncture and blood sampling with precision and care. Familiarity with laboratory safety standards including aseptic technique and infection control protocols. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
