Jacobs is searching for a dynamic Lab Technician Intern to join our team in El Segundo, CA. where you are a sophomore or junior student attending an accredited college studying a major in biology, chemistry, health sciences, or related field in good standing and possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a team environment, understand and follow quality control and safety requirements of regulatory agencies and have comprehensive computer skills. Principal Areas of Responsibility The Laboratory Intern duties will include, but not limited to the following:

• Prepare bottle sets and collect laboratory samples for compliance and process control
• Wash glassware and sample bottles
• Neutralize lab waste prior to discharging it to the sewer at a neutral pH
• Perform basic lab and field analysis
• Maintain part of the safety and quality control programs
• Perform calibration of laboratory balances and measuring devices
• Tabulate data for reports and maintain the laboratory data archive
• Perform routine clean-up and organization of laboratory

• In pursuit of a bachelor's or master's degree in in biology, chemistry, health sciences, or related field required
• Possess proficient computer skills
• Must possess a valid CA Driver's license
• Must understand and follow the quality control and safety requirements of the regulatory agencies in California
• Must be familiar with Windows operating systems and have knowledge of Microsoft Office products Ideally, You'll Also Have
• At least a rising junior
• Previous lab experience
• Basic understanding of water, wastewater, and/or water recycling treatment processes a plus
• Possess effective communication skills in both written and oral format Working Conditions & Physical Requirements The work area can involve a working environment indoors, as well as outdoors, which could cause exposure to outdoor elements; proper environmental attire will be required.

Some areas can have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, airborne particles, noxious gases, pathogens and various chemicals.
